Out of the box: Easy to assemble. Stickers are easily removed, but leave behind a lot of adhesive. Easily taken care of with goo gone, olive oil, etc. I noticed that the front tire was off by half an inch. I Spent some time truing it and found that 3 spokes were bent. This bike is great. if you read some of the other reviews for this bike you'll see the tire popped or it fell apart on them, but i think it's because these people didn't assemble it properly. yes this bike comes in pieces but if you enjoy puzzles like me than you should be fine, i don't even have any experience assembling bikes and i was fine. All in all i'd suggest this bike, i've experienced no problems, it feels 100% solid and is powerful yet beautiful. if you don't have the tools, borrow them from your neighbor, tighten everything, if you get stuck and the directions confuse you there are plenty of youtube videos, remember to keep it in a nice dry spot and you'll be fine.

It's not something that should stop you from buying this bike. Tires and tubes are commonly replaced items, and are going to be replaced a lot throughout the life of the bike. Just warning you to be prepared to spent some money when you get it on new tires and tubes

Tires: Really good quality. I've put a good 100 city miles on mine.

Many pot holes, cracks, curbs, skids, bar-spins, no problems at all.

Flip Flop Hub: This gives you the option to ride fixed or freewheel and very easy to switch from one to the other. I like riding fixed-gear personally, but it can get really tiring because your feet are moving a lot, so sometimes I switch to freewheel and then it rides like a normal cruiser.

Handlebars: It's my first time having BMX style handlebars and I am really happy with them. I actually prefer them by far for city riding because they come a little bit higher so I'm not leaned forward as much. Way more comfortable, and it makes my bars-pins really easy.

Frame: The frame can bar spin and there is no toe overlap. The geometry is perfect, and the frame is surprisingly light for this price range. I've paid over $500 for my last fixie which was heavier.

Fixies are becoming more popular as more people discover the joy of riding single speed bikes and fixed gear road bikes One of our all time best sellers has been updated for 2013 with new colors Assembly took me about 2 hours because I had no idea what I was doing (I've never dealt with bikes other than riding them prior to this) but it was SO much fun and it's a great feeling to put it together yourself. The bike comes as a single speed and I'd rather keep it as this than converting it to fixed gear (which is a pretty cool feature might I say) because I prefer to coast. When assembling, make sure to look up videos on how to properly fit the bike to your comfort needs, i.e. how high the seat should be, how far back the seat should be, etc.

A bike my size with no brands. After being assembled, you can start tearing up the streets as a single-speed or a fixed-gear. I prefer pounding the pedals on single-speed as a safety measure.(stop pedaling and check my surroundings.) Anyways, you get what you pay for. Yes, the pedals, the brakes, and the seat feels kinda cheap. So what? Replace them to your liking. I plan to fix this bike up to how I want it. I might not do it all in one-go but until that day, I just can't help myself but be excited. For me, this will be a gradual and in the end, a rewarding experience. I'm very satisfied with what I have, especially as a new biker. If you want your first bike to really call your own, get it!

Fixie bikes are probably best known  I am all about functionality over style and ride a fixie. ... I ride a single-speed (as opposed to a geared bike) for multiple reasons. ... Someday I'll have the money for a decent road bike (105/Rival or better) and will buy one.

Schwinn Ridge AL Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

It is light enough and has a decent build. It has all the features you'd want: 21-speeds (7 back, 3 in the front) quick-release brakes, wheels and seat, thumb and trigger-finger gear shifters, shimano brand quality derailleur, and a decent front shock.

The bike comes in a box and there is some assembly required, but nothing too advanced. Basically you have to attach the handle bars, pedals and front tire for which you'll need an allen key and a socket wrench.

The front shock is little more than a spring (I'm not sure there's any dampening going on there at all), but it gets the job done. The brakes are excellent -- as close as you'll get to disc brakes for this price. I did have to tune up the rear derailleur though because it was skipping.


They must use a different aluminum in this one then their other bikes carried by Wal-Mart cause those were all a bit heavier. It's an easy bike to lift up on my roof racks.

 I always used a men's style Pugeot racing bike but have adapted easily to this style. The middle bar isn't too high or too low and is great for stopping/standing. The kick stand is a definitely plus for my smoke breaks. I good chain or wheel lock is best. Yes, I'd recommend this to a friend or anyone who wants to ride!

 The Diamondback Response Sport is a very good value in a hardtail mountain bike as you are getting a relatively high end frame design with mid range components. The modified top tube design is a strengthen design borrowed from higher end Diamondback models and similar to some Specialized bikes.

The bike arrives mostly assembled, but plan to spend a full Saturday afternoon to correctly reset the derailer travel limits and align the front caliper if you do not take it to a local shop for a professional tune up. Finally, if you want to do distance riding, the bike is wholly inappropriate. The riding stance and the tire thickness would make this bike (or any mountain bike) a poor choice for anyone other than the most fit athlete out there.

 The bike, after assembled, needed some adjustments to the brakes and gears. I fully expected this to be the case. The bike rides very nice and is very comfortable. I mention the need for adjustment because all bikes require this when assembled. When you buy a bike already assembled, those adjustments are already done. Unfortunately, the directions are not that clear on making those adjustments. Also, the packaging is not adequate for shipping. The box was heavily damaged but the was okay.

Arrived in pristine condition and was well packaged. The instruction manual that was included in the box was a little too vague in some parts so I went to diamondback.com and found the assembly instructions specific to this model and they were MUCH easier to understand.

The bike is more assembled out of the box than I would have thought (I've never bought a bike online before). It was just about ready to go except the handlebars and front tire are removed and zip tied to the frame. After getting those on you just need to tune the breaks and the derailer and its ready to go. I've never done this before but it wasn't too bad. There are also how to videos online showing customers how to setup a mail order bike if needed (third party sites, not the DB site).

It feels very powerful. The upsized 29" wheels feel like they can take anything you throw at them. Assembly is extremely easy. I also love that Diamondback uses the same frame throughout the Overdrive line, so the pro model has the same frame as the V. I also love that even though the V comes with cantilever brakes, it has the mounts for disc brakes giving the option to upgrade later.
